35mm Camera
Remove camera straps. Use 400 or 800 speed film for lower light conditions or infrared film.

Digital Camera
There's no negative as proof but can save printing costs, especially for surveying or routine photos.

Video Camera
Brand new tapes are necessary and a tri-pod is strongly recommended.

Instant Camera
Don't count them out. Lenses must be clean and dry whatever camera is used.

Night Vision
These can be used alone or attached to a video camera. Infrared illumination is a plus.

Audio Recorder
Analog and digital have both proven effective. Headphones should be used while recording.

EMF Meter
For detection of electromagnetic fields thought to be associated with haunting activity.

EMF Wand
A variation of the EMF detection meter, with an LED display. Other types are also available.

Thermal Scanner
Uses an infrared beam to measures small areas of temperature difference in a room.

Thermal Sensor
A thermometer with a remote read-out display that measures the temperature of a room.

Ion Detector
Measures the concentrations of positively and negatively charged air ions.

Geiger Counter
Measures the level of radiation. An initial check of the background level is necessary.
