Perhaps the most famous mist photo ever taken was this one of the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall,
believed to be the spirit of Dorothy Walpole, a one-time resident of the manor located in Norfolk, England, taken by photographers Captain Provand and his assistant Indre Shira and published in the British magazine Country Life, on the 26th of December, 1936.
Since that time, many images have been photographed that are purported to be paranormal in nature, and these are sometimes accompanied by reports of cold spots, feelings of uneasiness or being watched, or hearing the sounds of footsteps. Often, these mists are unseen, and only appear on film. Such mists may appear scattered, as in this photo (below left) or dense as in this one (below right).
