HAUNTED WASHINGTON | Other Ghost Stories

I used to live on Fairchild Air Force Base from 1995-2000. my fater and mother both worked there and i went to school in Medical Lake. I remember stories that my father, mother, and their friends would tell me about "Goat Man". this is what i was told in 1999: The Base is lined with a fence that has an alarm system that picks up anyone or anything climbing or messing with it. there are also cameras set up so that they can watch the fence. Many animals have been known to trip the alarm. One night the gaurds were watching the fence like usual when the alarm went off. they looked but saw nothing. then again it is goes off. nothing there. it goes off again and they send someone out to see it. the man that goes to check the fence takes a dog with him because its dark and just incase that there is someone trying to get on the base, he is protected. he arrives there and sees nothing and radios in that the coast is clear. all of a sudden his flashlight batteries die. he asks the contorl center what are his surroundings because he cant see anything. the dog starts to go crazy! he barks and barks at one direction but the man cant see whats the dog is barking at. he thinks there is nothing there. control center radios him telling him to move because there is a person there and its heading for him. the dog tries to get looses from his leash all the while freaking out, and finally the dog does get free and runs away. At this time control center is yelling at him to move because there is someone right infront of his face and they are going to send back up. the man finally listens, and runs to his vehical and drives away. The men watching see the figure dissapear. The dog that ran away was never found. Not only this happened, but all sorts of odd things happened on the base. I lived on Nebraska street in a one story base house and often candels would liht back up after being snuffed out, often multiple times. my friend spent the weekend at my house and on saturday night my dod started to bark like crazy at the kitchen. we were in the front room were the computer was set up at the time. when we told her to stop (we were to scared to get up from our seats and go into the kitchen) we heard whispers from what we thought was a woman all around us, but it was only one voice. we could not make out what it was saying but we both agreed that we did hear laughter. It only happened for a few seconds and as it ended we both looked at eachother. as calmly as we could we turned everything off and went to bed in the living room and did not talk about it until we awoke the next day. not only that but things in my room would fly off my dresser forcefuly and land at the other end of my room.

I lived in a house in Bothell Washington. Just below the graveyard. I can't remember the address. Apparently it's the only house there anymore. Right by the overpass. I saw the ghost one night looking at me. He had brown eyes. They were about 10 inches away from my face. He seemed friendly. On many other occasions, I heard footsteps upstairs. There was only one way upstairs. All my kids were asleep. I went upstairs. All the kids were asleep. All the windows were locked. Nobody there. My dauhter said he stared at her all the time. I came home from grocery shopping one time and he started making noises. Loud noises. Right in front of me. I moved not long after that.

My house is pretty old. It was built in 1907, lived in by a family for a while, then was rented out by various people until 1984, when my family moved in, and stayed. We have had different ghost things go on in this house. Once my brother when he woke up one morning he thought my dad was in his room. As he looked closer he realized it was white image of a man. The man was looking at my brother, than turned around and went through my brother's bedroom door. My brother didn't feel scared or threatened, just curious. My sister and I once heard a knocking on the floor coming from upstairs even though we were the only people home. Our TV (only in the living room) likes to turn it's self on off sometimes while you are watching it.

I have had many encounters with ghosts at Borders Books and Music while I worked there through 1996-1998. I have known many people who were employees there when I was and since then that have also experienced the ghosts or ghosts. The main ghost that the employees knew of was called "Denny" because there used to be an old Denny's restaurant there. He was an old man. I saw him appear one night after closing. He was so solid that I thought he was a customer that didn't hear that we had closed. So when I started to tell him that we had closed he disappeared. He is the same description that everyone has. But I have felt and seen other ghosts there other than "Denny" and so have other's that have worked there. It seemed to only happen to the people working there. I would have books knocked over while I was shelving them. I have felt someone tap my shoulder when there was no one there. The alarm system has reported someone on the stairs when we were closing and all the employees were standing with us waiting to leave. One of my managers was opening the store one morning and got an incoming call from the music office when she knew that she was the only one in the store. Another friend of mine that worked there, witnessed all the music listening stations go on all at once all throughout the music department after they had closed. Most of the activity happened late in the evening before closing or after closing and sometimes in the early morning. I know of employees experiencing a ghost in the childrens book section too. I don't work there anymore but I still have friends who do and they said that "stuff" still happenes there.

I've been going to Fort worden state park in Port Townsend for many years. Out of all the crazy events, and the stories that have stuck out to me starts when back when I was like 7 or 8 years old. It was during my family reunion, and I was staying at one of the houses on officers row. I felt something in the room and then the light near the side of the bed turned off. Then I turned and it was back on again. It went on and off for minute or too, before I ran out of the room. I have been at the bottom of the same stair case in the same bunker on hill,( near the switchboard room) and had 3 flash lights die on me. I thought it was kind of funny and strange, one time I told my friend who had a maglight and at the same stair case killed my friends flashlight. Being a little kid and seeing things, seeing steal doors move without anyone there. In the end it's a great place for you to go check out on your own.

I work in Roslyn, Wa, at an inn as a busser. yesterday I was standing in the waiting station bored out of my mind because we were so slow and i was looking outside. I saw a "cloud of smoke" move, about as fast as a person walking as fast as they can, to my right. I knew it couldn't be an actual cloud of smoke for a cigerette because it was moving toward the smoking section. I went outside anyway, just to find that there was absolutly no wind at all. I went back inside and when I back in the waiting station i thought "that was kinda weird," immediatly after thinking that I saw the same ball (about the size of a basketball) move the other way, the same height (about 4' off the ground).

As abnormal as this sounds, " didnt think anything of it...until this morning.

This morning i walked in the kitchen and there was the chef (we'll call him "jim" to keep his name a secret) cutting something for breakfasts. i said "hey jim" and the first thing that he says is "do you believe in ghosts"...i knew exactly what it was that i saw and knew that he saw something also. i said yes. jim said "ok, well i could have sworn that i saw i guy in here with me this morning."

What he saw was actually a figure of a man. he described him as transperant like, hooded, and kind of creepy looking, reminding him of something like the grim reaper.

I told him what i saw the day before and he said that one of the housekeepers, upstairs, said that when she moves rooms to clean them she can see a transperant like man in overalls following her.

3 sightings of ghosts, between 3 different people that havent talked to each other, all within 4 days of each other (and the house keeper has seen the ghost before then also, but hasnt said anyting to us) if that doesnt tell you that there is a haunting then i dont know what does.

TEXT: I haven't spoken of these things in many years, though my memory of them has not diminished with the passing decades. I can still recall these events with startling clarity as well as the emotions they engendered. At times, I find they still disturb me - and to this day I have no viable explanation for what occurred, nor reason for why I experienced them.

In the Summer of 1975, I lived on the lower slope of Queen Anne Hill, in Seattle. My apartment was situated close to Kinnear Park ? a small, but pleasant park that juts out over a green running along the southwestern end of the hill.

On a particularly warm night I was awakened around 3:00 am. As I was in a fifth floor apartment, my windows were wide open due to the lingering heat. I was jolted from a deep sleep, by what I can only describe as the most unearthly sound I have ever heard. It was something between a strangling cry, and a shriek. The noise literally made my skin crawl. I know I wasn't dreaming because I heard it several times. That first gruesome wail woke me up, but the 3 that followed occurred while I was wide awake, and looking out the window.

The cries seemed to come from right below me, and yet from nowhere in particular. I saw nothing at all. The street was empty, nothing was moving not even a breeze was stirring. At the time, I recall thinking it sounded like an infant crying but the inhuman quality of the succeeding drawn out screams clearly rendered the thought impossible. I can say with confidence it was not made by a dog or a cat - or any other animal I've ever heard, including a screech owl. The quality of the cry and the impression it left in me was far less plaintive than menacing.

As suddenly as it had begun, it ceased. I remember trying to go back to sleep and being too nervous to do so. I eventually drifted off into a fitful slumber, and woke with the coming of dawn. In the light of the morning, I went outside and searched all the places the frightful moans seemed to have come from. There was nothing amiss or out of the ordinary to be seen. For the next few nights, I slept poorly? afraid of being woken by those dreadful wails. Time passed, and the incident receded to the periphery of my memory, though I never forgot it.

In 1992 I was again living on lower Queen Anne ? this time on the west slope. The house I was renting was nestled next to the same green belt that sweeps across the foot of the hill, this time on the other, far side of Kinnear Park. I had also acquired two cats, then aged about 5 years old. One night, near the end of September, I was pulled from my sleep by a chillingly familiar and unwelcome sound. At first, I thought I had merely dreamed the sickening cry. But upon waking, I saw both of my cats hunched in the window. As I lay there, my heart pounding, the cries came again ? just as they had before, only this time from farther off. The reaction of the cats was even more disturbing. One of them disappeared under the bed right away. The other growled? the only time I?ve heard him do that and joined the other one. Like the time in 1975, the cries were repeated, and then ceased suddenly. It left me with same chill it had before. When morning came, it was a challenge to coax the cats out from underneath the bed.

Then last year, I purchased a book about haunted places in Washington. One of the stories froze my blood as I read it. As far back as the 1920s, there have been reports of an inhuman wailing heard in and around the Kinnear Park area. Locals at the time believed it to be the ghost of an abandoned child. In spite of repeated searches, nothing was ever found to explain the night cries, nor was any source for the terrible sound ever discovered. According to the book, the cries ceased some time in the 1930s, and it concludes that whatever made the hideous shrieks had found peace. But it hasn't. Whatever presence is the source of those unnerving wails, it still clings to its troubled memories ? and still drifts through the woodsy areas of lower Queen Anne. I've heard it. And I can only pray I never hear it again.

My husband and I just moved to West Richland WA from Queen Creek Arizona. We moved due to my husband transfering jobs and family being here. Anyways, At our house in arizona which was only a year and a half old and we built it, there were many things that occured that made us believe we had ghosts. I particularly think it was my sister who died at birth and my grandpa who died in 1997 when my first born was 6 weeks old. The first incident was when my husband and I were in our bedroom which was on the main floor and the light in out room just went off. The bulb did not burn out, and the light switch was still on, a few minutes later, it came back on. This continued to happen on and off for a good two weeks or so. Only when we were in our room or our bathroom and after the kids had gone to bed. The next thing that happened was when I was sitting on the couch with my youngest daughter who was about 15 months old and she has this toy that makes a weeeee sound when you roll it across the floor. It only makes noise when you move it. We were sitting on the couch together and it went off. Nothing was touching it and it wasn't moving. Needless to say I picked her up and took her outside until my husband got home and I told him what happened. He then told me that he had also heard the same toy go off before without anyone touching it. The last thing that happened and really scared me a lot was when I was at home alone with my two daughters. Age 3 and 15 months. My three year old was upstairs watching tv and my youngest was downstairs with me in my bedroom while I was working on the computer. We had two cordless phones, one in our room with an answering machine and one in the kitchen. I knew the one from the kitchen was on the floor in the living room and the one from our room was in front of me on the computer desk. The phone began to ring, so I looked at the caller ID and it said my husbands name. Fine. I thought it was his cell phone, until I looked at the number and it was our house phone number. I got up and went into the living room to make sure my three year old wasn't playing with the phone and there it was right on the floor and she was upstairs watching tv still. Meanwhile the phone is still ringing and my answering maching is not picking up, so I answer the phone and say hello in a rude tone because I'm a lot freaked out and I hear a man ask if my husband was there, I said no rudely and they hung up. I was so tripped out by this that I saved the number on caller ID and called my mom and my husband right away to tell them what happened. When my husband got home from work, I showed him the caller ID with his name and our house number on it and he didn't know what to say. After all this I sat in my house and said outloud, Grandpa, Jessica,(who is my sister) It's fine if you want to hang out here, but please stop doing things to freak me out because I'm really getting scared. The lights never went off or on again and the toy was never played with again.

It started before we moved into our new home, I saw the house and being only 8 years old and full of imagination; I quickly dismissed my first impression, which was that an unpleasant spirit resided there, I felt a dark foreboding feeling, an unnatural fear. However, it didn?t take long for that impression to bear fruit. It started with things that I could dismiss; feelings of being watched, missing items, etc... Then the footfalls in the upstairs hallway sounded. The echoing of a man?s dress shoes....but there was no one home except me. I searched the house, including the crawl spaces and to no avail... there was no one. I locked all the doors and windows...still the footsteps echoed...I left.

Then came the sounds of a cat meowing behind closed doors....we had no cat...again I followed what became my procedure....looking, locking doors, double checking and finding nothing.

Later something inexplicable happened; I was brushing my hair and looking in the upstairs mirror, my young countenance, my long straight dusky blond hair. Suddenly, my reflection was no longer there and in its place was that of a thirty something man dressed as a woman! I was shocked in more ways than one. I had never seen such a thing nor had I ever even heard of a man dressed in such a manner. I stood there staring at what could not possibly be for several minutes, then when I realized that this was wrong in more ways then one and I immediately left the house. Only to come back home hours later and ask my mother about men dressing as women. About which I was explained to thoroughly some men?s predilections.

That however was not the unpleasant spirit; many friends have reported a feeling of fear and dread when spending the night in the upstairs ?hallway;? which is really a large open area between two bedrooms. Things have disappeared only to return later in the spot that you left them. People have reported a sense of ?something evil? coming towards them in the dark... I loose more visitors that way... One night in particular, I was laying down to go to sleep when I sensed something in the dark coming towards me... I heard footsteps coming closer, I felt a chill run up my spine and the hair all over my body stood on end.., it was warm in the room but the cold in my heart as it raced was inexplicable. I knew that it was no human being coming towards me, but to be sure I quickly clicked on the light.... there was no one in sight but the footfalls continued.... I grabbed my 2 year old son and ran down the steps to the lower floor where I could still hear the echoing.

One morning I was taking a shower upstairs in the bathroom, I had locked the door as I always did just in case my brother?s friends came over. I washed off the mirror as I always did because of my little sister?s hand prints that were usually there. I was in the shower when I heard a noise; looked out past the shower curtain and saw no one and nothing. When I got out of the shower and toweled off I looked up at the steamed mirror and written on it as if someone had used a finger were the words, ?I am here.? I froze with the shock of it, dressed very quickly and left.

We have seen objects move, lights go on or off, and even objects hit people on the head! Luckily they were lightweight objects. We have experienced impassable areas which normally are perfectly passable. The area is blocked by something unseen but felt. We have had sˇances (unprofessional) that have revealed that Gus was murdered, kind, apparition resides in the garage. Steve the transvestite who is also pleasant resides upstairs and Walt the negative entity resides upstairs in the hallway.

Our family gose to the bush house every halloween. One time we got out of the car and saw a young women looking out of the top window. Then we heard a huge thump and a women ran down the hall. We drove out of there then came back. All the lights were off so we took a flash light and turned it to the house. All the lights went on and we heard a scream. 2 years later we went back and heard little boys and girls scream bloody murder. A girl was behind a bush with a rope around her neck. We haven't gone this year, yet.

I am a retired, Air Force Tech.Sgt. I am sending you this information as I have been, "holding", it for some time and thought you might find it interesting. My family and I have recently moved to Colorado from Fairchild AFB. My husband and I were stationed there previously from 1985-1991. During that time, we spent 3 years living on base on what used to be Elm Street in a duplex built, I would guess, in the 1950s-1960s.

I awoke on a Saturday morning around 0500 and could not get back to sleep. I decided to go down to the basement to start laundry. The stairs to the basement were old, wooden stairs and were very steep and very creaky. Even my cat was not able to walk up or down the stairs without noise. In addition, the basement door was a heavy, solid wood door that creaked loudly no matter how quietly a person tried to open or close it. My back was to the stairs but if I turned, I could see to the top. As I was folding clothes, I very distinctly heard a child say, "Mama?" This voice was very clear and even a bit loud in the stillness of the early morning and I heard it directly behind me. In the blink of an eye, I thought that the voice did not sound like my son's voice nor had he ever called me, "mama", and I had heard absolutely no sound from the stairs, door, nor feet on the creaky, wood floor overhead, however, being a mom, I said, "It's early. Go back to bed." as I turned to look at the stairs. Of course, no one was there. I rushed up the stairs and my son was sound asleep, completely tangled in his sheets but I woke him and asked him if he had called me. He hadn't. Our next door neighbors were a childless couple and were very quiet but I asked them the next day if they had visitors and they had not. I have worried about the ghost of this child for many years. In the fall of 2003, the Air Force sent my husband back to Fairchild. We lived approximately 3 blocks from the site of our former house. I say,"site", because although all the other houses in the area were removed and rebuilt over the years, the duplex where we used to live is now a vacant lot. No house, no park, nothing. There is no evidence that any house was ever there. It causes me to wonder if there were other reports of the child who spoke to me that morning and if that is the reason the Air Force decided to leave this one space empty.

Quick History. I live with my Grandmother in an average country home; which I'd resently dicovered was built on Indian Hunting Grounds. The house is one level, three bedrooms, two baths, small kitchen, back door enters into the wreck room, dinning table sits in the wreck room, and the front door enters into the living. The house was built by my Grandparents in 1970(I believe). I moved in with my Grandmother in January of 2004 already knowing that something odd was going on within the house, but couldn't explain what it was until a few weeks after settling in that I had a feeling I new what it was.

One of the Summer monthes in 2004 I woke up to find myself alone the house, my Grandmother had gone into town. I had heard a noise come from the kitchen, like the clatter of dishes being put in the sink. Thinking it might have been my grandma's cat, Thunder, searching for food. I went into the kitchen to investage and found no cat. I looked out the window above the sink to see my grandma's dog, Sasha, sniffing around when I saw a shadow pass threw the corner of my eye in the wreck room. And being the curious person that I am I went into the wreck room to see who was in the house. No one was there, the back door was locked, and everything seemed normal. I was standing in front of the dinning room table behind one of the chairs when I got the feeling I was being watched. Then suddenly the chair was violently pulled underneath the table.

Next experiance happened later in the year and I woke up around 2:30am for some unknown reason. I got up and went to the bathroom, and when I came out I looked into the living room to see my Grandmother's rockingchair rocking back and forth.

Then in late September early October I had three of my girl friends over and I was taking pictures. When I got them deveploved Out side the window I found two little blue eyes and a faint white face looking in as we we're goofing around. It shows up in about three different photos then in simalar photos it seases to be.

I've also had some experiances where I'll be lying in bed and I'll get the feeling I'm being watched and touched. My radio has habits of turning on when it like; the volume raise and lowers on its own, the lamp on my desk has shut itself off on numerous time, and my alarm clock will sometimes either not go off or shut itself off.

For 16 years my husband and I owned the Exchange Tavern in Spanaway. The Exchange was built circa 1890, was originally a "rough logger's saloon", according to old-timers, and history detailed a few bloody shootouts. So I often lamented the fact that our historic site had no ghosts to entertain the tourists. (I worked at the Exchange alone at odd hours of the night and felt none of the unease familiar from my childhood home, which is definitely haunted.)

I had also told Henry, an old-timer who'd been a customer of the Exchange since he was 5 years old (yes, male children were allowed in the olden-days) that he couldn't die because this novice barkeep couldn't run the place without him. Henry promised to look after the Exchange even after he was gone. He died at age 81. And he kept his promise.

A week later, locked in for safety, I was alone doing chores when I felt someone behind me and heard Henry speak my name. Later I watched an old, collectible sign advertising his brand of beer rise UP off its hook, float outward, and fall to the floor. From then on he showed himself to other bartenders: Opened pulltabs would magically appear on the counter, balls on the pool table would suddenly spin into pockets, items would disappear, then after a fruitless search later reappear in the same spot. Henry would pinch a favorite buxom bartender, and several new hires quit because "something's in here!" and one insisted that the "people clomping around upstairs at night" scared her. (There is no "upstairs"). Evidence indicates Henry sent several new hires on their way because they were tipping the till.

When we retired, we had no offers on the Exchange for a year. A psychic told me the tavern needed to be "cleansed." There isn't room here to describe that weird event; suffice to say enough occured to prove that the psychic was on the up-and-up. Almost immediately after the cleansing we received a good offer from a person matching the psychic's prediction. We had asked Henry to stop visiting, so once again, the Exchange has no ghost to help the new owner. But once in a while, the eight-ball spins across the pool table and sinks on its own...

We have a house that was built in 1938 on the old oregon trail. At one time it was a restaurant. I lived there and I was about 9-11. I would see a little girl in an old western style dress about 4-6 years old and she would be crying in our bathroom. I would also hear a gun shot when she was in there.

In 1984 my husband, 9 year old daughter and I moved into a brand new apartment in Marysville. We were the very first tenants to live in this apartment. A few months after we moved in,I was drying my hair in the bathroom. The bathroom had a large mirror over the sink, which reflected the hallway and both bedroom doors to our room and our daughters room. As I was drying my hair, I saw a man in a red and plaid "lumberjack" type shirt, walk from my daughters room to our room. It scared me half to death and left me absolutely frozen with terror for a few seconds. I crept down the hallway and peeked into our room and saw no sign of this man. The hair was literally standing up on my arms and the back of my neck, it was so creepy. I saw this man a few more times, and although it would startle me every time, I never felt like he noticed me or meant me any harm. I kept it to myself, thinking it was just me seeing this person who always seemed to be in a hurry. One day, though, I jokingly said to my no-nonsense Norwegian husband, something about having a ghost in the house. He turned and looked me straight in the eyes, his own eyes very wide, and said, "Do you mean the guy in the red plaid shirt?" He had seen this man, too, and didn't want to say anything to scare me or our daughter. He said the first time he saw him, he was also looking in the bathroom mirror and he saw the man walk from our room to our daughters room. He chased the man, ready to fight whoever had broken into our apartment. And again, no one was in the room when he got there. We started calling our roommate "Harry" and when we moved in 1986, he must have stayed behind because we never saw him again. My daughter never saw Harry, but then I finally realized that the only time we saw Harry, was when we were looking in the bathroom mirror. And my daughter wasn't yet tall enough yet to look in the mirror. And now like Paul Harvey says, here is the rest of the story. I often wondered why a ghost would be in the 2nd floor of a brand new apartment building. One day it occured to me that a two story house might have stood where the apartment is now. About ten years ago, I found in our library, a pictorial history of Marysville, and sure enough there was a picture of a two-story house where that apartment now stands. I went to the City of Everett library, they have city directories dating back to the early 1900's. I found the name of the man and his wife and family who lived there for many years. He and his wife are buried in the Marysville Cemetery. But, I still wonder ... What made him appear to us? Oh, by the way "Harry" was a lumberjack, he worked at the Welco Lumber Company here in Marysville.

I lived in a tri-plex about 15 years ago. Every night the spirit of a young man came in the back door. He would go down the hallway and look into my toddler's bedroom, then go into the hallcloset. He was about 18-23 years old, dressed in jeans and a button down dress shirt. He was all white. My sister also saw him. The man next door saw him and quit drinking.

A year ago I moved a short ways from the building, close enough I see it from my living room window. When I moved in, it was empty, between owners. After dark when I would run to the grocery store on foot, I would hear sounds coming from what seemed to be the basement. Sounds as if people were moving around. When walking by the mansion at night in the winter, snow would fall from the trees across the street I walked past them. I could feel a presence, even during the day, as if Something was watching me.

There is another building here not mentioned on your website. The Holley Mason building. I worked there 2002-2003, October'ish to May or June. I would clean the offices at night. Often when I knew only the cleaning crew was left in the building I would hear children's laughter and the sound of a bouncing ball in the stairwell. Once I turned around and saw a man in a brown suit and bowler hat for just a moment, then he was gone. The man in charge of our crew told me, when I asked, of several instances he'd experienced as well. He told me of his vacuum being unplugged then plugged back in. The feeling was always warm and friendly. The crew lead reassured me that the spirits only made themselves known if they liked you.

We believe we are living in a spiritual focal point or we are receptive to spiritual activity. We moved into our current home 5 years ago. This area is just inside the boundaries of the Tulalip Reservation on Fire Trail Hill. The local theory is that this is an active spiritual area already with at least one ghost story for the local hill. Since about 6 months after we moved in we have experienced several interesting occurrences.

We live 5 miles out of town, pretty much in a rural wooded area at the back of a cul-de-sac against a green belt. It's not uncommon to see deer, wolves or coyotes walking in our cul-de-sac or down the street. We haven't experienced anything bad and usually don't get creeped out except on one occurrence I'll explain later. This one involved our back yard and our back yard in the dark has been spooky since we moved in, long before any occurrences.

Our back acre is natural woods and fenced. The occurrences happen randomly, usually in the evening, sometimes over a few days, sometimes weeks or months between occurrences.

Two physical incidents watching the phenomena occur.

Watching a picture fall
We have a miniature easel about 6 inches tall with a picture of the proposed light display where the trade center towers were sitting on top of our stereo cabinet. The picture sat on the stand uneventfully until it got moved to the rear of the stand and something was placed in front of it. After it got moved every day or two we would find the picture on the floor. We assumed it was our cats jumping up and knocking it off. One day I was sitting at my computer and looked up to see the picture fly off the stand to the floor. I don't mean fall, I mean fly about 3 feet out into the living room. No open windows, no fan, no animals in the area. I put it back in the stand and relocated the stand to where nothing was blocking the picture and it has stayed on the stand since. I believe the issue was something in front of the picture blocking the view. I havenÕt pushed my luck by trying to make it happen again.

See papers flying
My daughter had an elementary friend that committed suicide over his grades. She had talked to him the day before he killed himself. She was extremely upset over it. She kept his funeral announcement and hung it on her wall. One day she was rearranging the collage on her wall and had pulled a bunch of stuff off and put it on the floor. She experienced the wind from nowhere. Some of the papers lifted off the floor and started swirling and blew around the room. No windows open and only one door to the room. She spied the funeral announcement on the floor picked it up and said ok, ok knock it off and it quit (insert creepy music here).

Warning from a friend
Michelle does private house keeping, one of her clientÕs husband had cancer and died while Michelle was their housekeeper. They had given Michelle a large bookcase (we still have). Michelle could not get Gil out of her head one day, trying to figure out why she kept thinking of him, she walked to the bookshelf only to find a burning candle she had forgotten the day before, it was almost burned to the bottom of the container and was getting hot.

A request for confirmation (watching a candle flame go crazy)
One day Michelle and Tina were talking about her friend that died and started feeling like someone was there and asked him to show them if he was there. There was a candle burning and the flame went crazy growing shrinking blowing in swirls etc. There was no wind, windows closed, no-one walking around. We have since burned the same candle and others in the same spot and had none of those effects happen.

Cat jumping on the bed and lying down
This is a fairly regular occurrence. We currently have two cats and they do indeed jump on the bed and lay down. We have had three cats disappear and two die over the last 10 years. One disappeared right before we moved into the house. While it is possible cats jump up and back down before you see them, itÕs tough to explain when they lay down and you still feel their body weight and look and there's nothing there but a body shape in the blanket. We see cats walk around pretty steadily that arenÕt there as well, wrong color to be one of our current cats. We have suspected some of the dead or disappeared cats to be some of them but not all. We also catch cats walking by our dining and kitchen window on the deck rail that aren't there. We check as we also take in strays, lost or abandoned cats and kittens to find them homes. Sometimes they are actually physically there.

Boys walking on the back deck
Several times Michelle and I have seen separately, two different boys walk by the dining and kitchen windows. One is a taller skinny teen and the other is a younger boy. Our back deck goes the length of the house past both windows. We don't hear any footsteps when this occurs.

Native Americans around a fire in back yard. This one creeped Michelle out bad.
I was not home when this happened. Michelle had the doors locked and curtains drawn when I got home (which we never do). She happened to look out our dining window and saw a fire in the back yard, her initial thought was that kids had jumped the fence to camp in our back yard. When she looked harder it looked like it was three Native Americans in native dress hunched down around a small fire. She freaked when one of them looked up and looked her in the eye. We both have lot's of Native American in us and we live on former reservation land so IÕm not too surprised. Of course when I checked the next day there was no fire or burnt spot out back. She insists on what she saw and you canÕt get her in the back yard after dark.

Man in the kitchen
This one was kind of different as Michelle and I saw this from two different parts of the house at the same time. We didn't know we both saw it until later when I asked her if she saw anything unusual lately. I was in the main living room about 15 feet from the location. Michelle was in the dining room about 20 feet away. I looked up and saw a tall (6ft?) and heavy (300lb?) man in a full dark suit standing by our breakfast bar. I had the feeling he was looking at me smiling. I immediately thought of a dead relative that could fit the description. I didn't say anything at the time. A while later when Michelle and I were both sitting and talking I asked her if she had seen anything unusual lately and she described this man to me. Then we realized we had both seen the same thing at the same time. Sometimes we think weÕre just freaking out when we see some of this stuff. Neither of us got any bad or creepy feeling from this man. He seemed to just be checking in.

Most recent - black dog walking through living room
Last night we were sitting after Thanksgiving dinner. A friend and I were playing a network computer game and I caught a glimpse of a large black dog walking past the front door into the living room right in front of me. We have two large black and black and white dogs so it wasn't so strange until I really looked and there was no dog walking by. Our black female was already lying down in the living room and our other dog was lying by our friend.

An older interesting story
I was living in Port Orchard in my Fathers mobile that he rented out for a while. It was middle of the day on a Saturday, I was lying down in the back bedroom and my dog was sleeping in the living room. My brother and his girlfriend were staying with me in one of the outbuildings. They had had a squabble a little earlier so when I heard the front door open and someone stomp down the hallway I didnÕt think anything of it. Then the back door flung open and banged the wall and my dog ran barking down the hallway. I jumped off of the bed and followed my dog out the back door to see her running in a circle barking at the ground in the back yard. My brother and his girlfriend were both in their room at the time I found out. That was a weird one. The story goes that the original owner of the house had died there. Nothing weird that I know of.

This stuff has occurred over the last 41/2 years or so. The last couple months have been uneventful until the dog walked through last night. I think Michelle mentioned a cat recently also. It has almost gotten common enough that we don't get too excited about it anymore we just ask them to be nice and they are welcome. So far so good, now if only we could un-creep our back yard after dark. Being a grown man and getting creeped out on our back deck with the lights on isn't right. We use the safety in numbers theory when on the back deck after dark. Michelle won't go out there if someone isn't with her at night.
